United in Building the Kingdom of God

This week in my Business class, we were assigned to read Elder L. Tom Perry’s talk, “United in Building the Kingdom of God.” In his talk, he states, “When we look at all the Lord asks of us, it can sometimes seem overwhelming... I believe it is helpful when faced with an enormous challenge to view it as a step-by-step process.” When creating a business process, as we learned about with the HMM assignment this week, we learn that that process must be a step-by-step process as well. Though we may be tempted to rush through things because we just want to get to the making money part, we must be patient and methodical in our actions.

To quote Elder Perry one more time, he testifies of this simple truth, “I am certain that the Lord is pleased even with our small beginnings, because in His infinite wisdom He knows that small things often become great things.” We are those small things that the Lord has to work with. Lucky for us, we have a Heavenly Father who loves us for who we are – despite our shortcomings. He sees us for the potential that is so evident within us. So, if anything, take courage and don’t lose faith. God will help you in spiritual and temporal things. Just listen to Him, and be willing to follow His council.

$100 Challenge Update:

 I have been out of town this week, so I wasn’t able to do any babysitting jobs this week. Next week I will continue with taking more jobs, and hopefully I’ll be able to complete my $100 challenge then!
